Natural Snoring Remedies
Snoring is a problem for the person who is doing it and the person who has to endure it. It is not uncommon for problems such as this to break couples up. Not only can it absolutely annoy the person who is listening to it all night and keep them from sleeping – but it can be a sign of deeper issues for the person doing the snoring.
One of the best ways to put a stop to snoring is to use a mouthpiece. There are a number of different brands on the market to choose from. All you have to do is find the one that is going to fit your mouth best. In some cases though the snoring mouthpiece is not enough to completely stop the problem.
There are other steps that you should take in order to stop snoring. The first rule that many people do not follow is to refrain from drinking alcohol right before they go to sleep. Give your body thirty minutes to an hour to get and alcohol out of your system. The alcohol will relax your throat and cause your tongue to fall back into it – which will start up the snoring.
Use pillows to elevate your head and torso six inches than the other parts of your body. This will help to keep the tongue from sliding to the back of the throat. If this is not effective than try to sleep on your side or stomach instead of the back. When you sleep on the back your tongue and throat will be in the best position to cause snoring.
Do not eat an dairy foods before bed. Dairy will cause mucus to develop in the throat and nose. Too much before bed and their will be too much in your throat. Also keep from eating large meals at least three hours before you go to sleep. When you lay down after a large meal you will experience acid reflux. Not only does this cause snoring – but it can damage your esophagus.
